Synopsis

Dry mouth, heart-racing as fear grips Mary’s mind and body. Hastily, under cover of darkness, Mary and
husband, Joseph, with their child, Jesus, flee to the unknown land of Egypt. Earlier Joseph had startled
her from sleep after an angel of the Lord had warned him King Herod wanted to kill their child. The
angel insisted they escape to Egypt.

In Egypt Mary struggles with a primeval fear for the life of her child, who is cloaked in prophesy yet
entrusted to her.

After a few years of relatively peaceful sojourn in Egypt, Joseph is directed in a dream to return to
Israel. Fear once again seized Mary’s heart as they learn Herod, who sought to kill Jesus, is dead, but
his son is now king.

Follow Mary’s story from Jesus’ birth to his death and resurrection, as she might have experienced it.

A work of fiction based on main events from the Bible.

                                  Reviews

A sweet, fresh account of the birth and life of Jesus which causes the reader to acknowledge:  Mary,
Joseph – the others, were just ordinary citizens, like people today. Like me. A powerful reminder that
when God calls even us to a task, He doesn’t always make it easy. Only possible, with blind faith in Him.

Your compelling story – telling through the voice of Mary is so rich with insight, enhanced by your
knowledge of ancient culture, and so true to the text of Scripture – a wonderful experience in devotional
reading.
Rev. E. Gary Marshall

I thoroughly enjoyed your beautifully written book. Your caring, loving, motherly nature and your
passion and faith in God was evident in every page.

Only an author with a true mother’s heart could have written it. I recommend this novel to all who
would like a refreshing view of the story of Jesus
William Alexander, Historian

The novel holds one’s attention to the end. This is a pleasurable reading experience.
Gerda Creelman, Ret. Dir. Of Christian Education

This book brought a reality to the past and made me feel it could have happened today. A very enjoyable
book.
